Day 1: Vientiane – Arrival

Welcome to Vientiane. You arrive in the Vientiane Capital, the city of the moon which is an ancient city, situated on the bend on the left bank of the Mekong as the largest city and the capital of Laos. Laos Tour Package’s tour guide will welcome and transfer you to your hotel. After that we take a sightseeing tour of Vientiane to visit religious museums of Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple to have survived from the Siamese war of 1828 and its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha statues; Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo, today contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and all artifacts found in around Vientiane; That Luang Stupa, Symbol of Lao nation is the single most important monument in Laos, which was built to cover the original small stupa containing a piece of the chest bone of Buddha; Patouxay (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today the land-mark of Vientiane. Day 2: Vientiane - Luang Prabang (B)

After breakfast, Meet your guide and you will be taken to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. You will take a flight QV101 at 11:30/12:15. Upon arrival, our tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. After lunch you will be taken to visit the Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. After the King’s death, the Crown Prince Savang Vatthana and his family were the last to occupy the grounds. The palace was converted into a museum when the monarchy was overthrown by the communists in 1975 and the Royal Family were taken to re-education camps. Next stop is the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun which was originally constructed around the turn of the sixteenth century. The stupa is properly known as That Pathum but more commonly known as That Makmo as it resembles the shape of a watermelon. Then off to the Shrine of Wat Mai which is the largest and most richly decorated wat in Luang Prabang. The Buddhist Temple is located near the city museum. Followed by a visit to Wat Xieng Thong which are the most important temples in the country Laos. They are very old, built around 1560 by King Setthathhirat. The temple is located in a beautiful garden on the Mekong River. Your tour continues with a hike up 355 steps to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred gilded stupa. After this you can relax and watch the beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, you explore Street Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

 

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave (B)

After Breakfast, Meet your guide and you will be enjoying a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives you a beautiful view of the countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. The next stop is the village of Ban Xanghai where they make the distillation of local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong which is well known for its hand weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

 

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Kuangsii Falls – Departure (B)

After Breakfast,  Meet your guide and You will be starting off the day 30KM out of town to the beautiful Kuang Sii Fall, where you can swim, relax and soft trek to the top of the fall. On return you will have a short stop at Black Hmong Village where hill tribe hand-made handicrafts and souvenirs for visitors pass by. After that return to town and take you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
